Dr. Yu Xie is the Otis Dudley Duncan Professor of Sociology and a research professor in the Population Studies Center and Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan. He is the PI for the Measuring Developmental Idealism and Family Life pilot study in China. Dr. Xie also studies social stratification and social mobility, with research on factors related to recruitment into scientific professions. His other research interests include statistical methods and demographic techniques. He teaches courses on methods and statistics.
